USA Badminton International Tournament Entry Procedure

USA BADMINTON INTERNATIONAL TOURNAMENT ENTRY PROCEDURE
(Last Updated On May 13, 2006)

Through the careful evaluation of finding ways to better improve athlete's entries into tournaments, USAB and the USOC have collaborated and have developed the following guidelines:

1. All players must sign a USAB Code of Conduct Form that is valid for one year.

2. Players who request BWF Tournament information from the USAB should allow two business days for a reply from USAB with the information.

3. Tournament entry requests must be made by email or fax and should include the following information:

- first and last names,
- BWF Number,
- current national ranking,
- events requested,
- accommodation request,
- travel itinerary,
- contact details (email, phone, and fax).

(Please use the USAB International Tournament Entry Request Form.)

4. Tournament entries must be received by the USAB office no later than 5 business days before the competition entry closing date (i.e. if closing date is Monday, entries must be received by Tuesday of the previous week; if closing date is Friday, entries must be received by Monday).

5. USA Badminton will request that players pay upon arrival. However, if the Tournament requires entry fees and/or accommodations be paid before the tournament, a $10 processing fee per person (to cover wire transfer costs) will be required.

6. USAB will forward requests for airport pick up and drop off, partner request, or sharing of accommodation. However, USAB will not be held responsible if the organizers are not able to assist in the requests.

7. Players are responsible for their own expenses (travel, hotel, and entry fees).

8. Players are responsible for obtaining their own visas and to check out the host country's travel and health requirements. Visa requirements may be found at the US State Department's website at http://www.state.gov/.

9. Players are responsible to organize their own personal and injury insurance. TravMed is available at a rate of $3.00 per day per person. This fee must be included and requested at time of entry submission.

10. Players are responsible for all costs incurred for tournaments.

11. USAB will not be responsible for penalties imposed by the BWF as a result of athletes' actions such as:

- misconduct as stated in the BWF statutes,
- failing doping procedures or tests,
- withdrawing from competitions after the draw has been made,
- not appearing for a competition,
- and failure to pay competition entry fees.

12. Athletes are responsible for keeping USADA forms current and will inform them promptly of any change of athlete contact information.
