2025 Collegiate Nationals & Selection Event for World University Games Rhine-Ruhr Prospectus Released

The Collegiate National/2025 WUG Selection Event will take place on March 7 – 9, 2025 at Midwest Badminton Club in Woodridge, Illinois. This event will serve as the selection event for the 2025 World University Games to be held July 16-27, 2025 in Dusseldorf, Germany and surrounding Rhine-Ruhr. Participants in the Collegiate National Championships must be U.S. Citizens as only U.S. Citizens may participate on the United States World University Games Team.

We anticipate, based on the projected team size, that the winners of each event will be selected for the WUG Team. Pairs will be selected as a team. The runner-up in singles and mixed doubles will also be selected. The anticipated team size is expected to be six (6) men and six (6) women (may be reduced by the organizer). If the team size is reduced, USAB will give priority to the winners. There are additional positions for four staff who will accompany the U.S. Team to Germany.

All players and staff must self-fund all costs for the trip to Rhine-Ruhr, Germany. The fee per person to attend the event is $3,345.00 plus airfare. The fee will need to be paid to USA Badminton by the given deadline (deadline to be announced soon, will be before April 27, 2025).

Entries and timely Coaching Pass applications for this tournament closes on Thursday February 20, 2025 at 11:59AM (one minute before noon) PST.
