WHAT ARE CLASSIFIERS?

Classifiers evaluate players and determine their Sport Class and Sport Class Status so they can compete in international tournaments. They are trained and qualified to be members of a Classification Panel.

The BWF co-ordinates and delivers classifier training at a national and international level. More information on classifier education, certification and training courses is available in the Classifier Structure and BWF Classifier Structure and Training Guidelines documents which can be downloaded in this section of the website.

The BWF recognizes four levels of classifier:

  • Senior International Classifier

  • National Level 2 Classifier
  • National Level 1 Classifier
