2025 YONEX SoCal ORC Update on Southern California Wildfires

USA Badminton’s thoughts are with everyone impacted by the devastating fires currently burning in Southern California. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the brave fire crews working tirelessly to protect lives and property.
At this time, the Yonex Southern California Open Regional Championships are still planned to proceed as scheduled. We are monitoring the situation and will provide updates if any changes occur. Please take care and stay safe.
1/17/2025 Update:
No changes are expected for the tournament, which will begin on Saturday.
1/16/2025 Update:
No changes planned for the tournament.
1/15/2025 Update:
The tournament is still planned to take place this weekend. For those with concerns about air quality, government officials recommend N95 masks.
1/14/2025 Update:
USA Badminton and the tournament staff are still monitoring the situation in the Los Angeles area. The tournament is still planned to take place this weekend.

Dear Event Participants,
USA Badminton sympathizes with your anxiety about the wildfire situation in the Los Angeles area. We are currently planning to host the tournament this weekend as planned. We have had representatives on-site at the venue who report back that the air quality in Pomona, California is currently “good”. This is confirmed with government monitoring equipment. We will update this posting every day this week at noon Pacific as we approach the weekend.
Due to the unprecedented nature of this tournament, those with a doctor’s note of underlying health conditions are eligible to withdrawal with a refund.
