U.S. secures Gold in Three Events at YONEX Pan Am Individual Championships 2026

It was an exciting final day at the XXIX YONEX Pan Am Individual Championships 2026! 

The tournament was held from April 7-10, 2026, in Lima, Peru.

A total of 18 U.S. athletes competed in the tournament and earned a total of three Golds, one Silver, and two Bronzes.

Starting off with Mixed Doubles, Presley Smith and Jennie Gai secured the win against their Brazilian opponents, Davi Silva and Sania Lima, in an electrifying two-game match, 21-16, 21-15.

In Women’s Doubles, two U.S. pairs faced of in the Finals. Lauren Lam/Allison Quynh Lee and Francesca Corbett/Jennie Gai played an exciting two-game match, with the Lam/Lee pair coming on top, 21-18, 21-18. This is Lam/Lee’s second Pan Am Individual Championships title together after winning the first in 2025.

Lastly, for Men’s Doubles, Hermes Zhi Yi Chen and Presley Smith defeated their Canadian opponents, Kevin Lee/Ty Linderman, after a two-game match, 21-13, 21-8. This is Chen.Smith’s third title in a row at the Pan Am Individual Championship after winning the first in 2024 and the second in 2025.

In addition, Hermes Zhi Yi Chen and Francesca Corbett earned Bronze in Mixed Doubles. Arden Quan Lee/Stanley Xing earned Bronze in Men’s Doubles.

This is also Presley Smith’s second time winning both the Men’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles titles. He achieved the same result at the 2024 Pan Am Individual Championships when playing Men’s Doubles with Zhi Yi Chen and Mixed Doubles with Allison Quynh Lee.
