COVID-19 UPDATE: SUSPENSION OF EVENTS

We acknowledge the terrible toll of COVID-19 on our nation, our member clubs, individual members, sponsors, and stakeholders.

USA Badminton has made the decision following a review of the current COVID-19 situation and a unanimous recommendation from the Junior Advisory Group, to freeze the Junior Rankings as of the last held USAB tournament (Freeze from Week 11 of 2020). In the event the Junior Worlds takes place, and the US players can travel safely to and enter New Zealand, USAB will send a team. The Team selection will be based on the current (frozen) rankings as of 2020 Week 11.

There will not be a 2020 Junior Nationals. All Open Regional Championships & Closed Regional Championships are suspended until January 1, 2021.

All other USAB Junior & Adult tournaments are suspended to, at the earliest, November 1, 2020. In the unlikely event, health advisories allow, and there are NO travel restrictions within the entire United States in which ALL six Regions are each able to hold an OLC in November & December, these may be allowed. This situation will be evaluated monthly.

These decisions are made to provide greater certainty and transparency to players, parents, coaches, and clubs and to help our community plan for the resumption of badminton events when the situation allows.
