Beiwen Zhang Captures Gold at 2025 YONEX U.S. Open Badminton Championships

As USA Badminton wrapped up hosting the 2025 YONEX U.S. Open Badminton Championships in Council Bluffs, Iowa from June 24 to June 29, 2025, the top seed in Women’s Singles, Beiwen Zhang, finally recaptured the YONEX U.S. Open title she last won in 2014.
In a thrilling final, Zhang defeated India’s Tanvi Sharma in three games, 21-11, 16-21, and 21-10 en route to reclaiming the Women’s Singles title.
The tournament featured many top-tier athletes from around the world as it returned to the Mid-America Center. Top U.S. athletes included Mixed Doubles pair Presley Smith and Jennie Gai who finished in the bronze position.
Tournament winners included India’s Ayush Shetty in Men’s Singles, USA’s Beiwen Zhang in Women’s Singles, Chinese Taipei’s Lai Po Yu and Tsai Fu Cheng in Men’s Doubles, Thailand’s Benyapa Aimsaard and Nuntakarn Aimsaard in Women’s Doubles, and Denmark’s Rasmus Espersen and Amalie Cecilie Kudsk in Mixed Doubles.
