Chengdu 2021 FISU World University Games Eligibility Update

The Chengdu 2021 FISU World University Games are scheduled to be held June 26 – July 7, 2022 in Chengdu, China. Our anticipated team size, which may be reduced by the organizer, is expected to be six men & six women.

usateam.org has provided the badminton eligibility standards for Chengdu 2021 FISU World University Games:

Each athlete must meet the following criteria in order to be eligible:

1. United States Citizen and able to obtain a US Passport, passport must be valid to six months beyond the Closing Ceremonies of the Games;

2. Birthdate between January 1, 1996 and December 31, 2004 for Chengdu

3. Have taken at least one 3-credit course towards a degree or diploma at an accredited college or university within the last year before the GAMES. Incoming freshman and transfers are usually eligible. The standard is that the athlete must be “progressing towards a degree”;

Those entering college just need to show that they are enrolled and have paid a deposit to attend.
