On the third day of play at Musashino Forest Sport Plaza for Tokyo 2020, the U.S. will have both their men’s doubles and men’s singles athletes participating in their second pool play matches. Men’s doubles players Phillip and Ryan Chew will have the first match of the morning against Japan’s Kamura Takeshi and Sonoda Keigo. Later in the evening, Timothy Lam will be playing in men’s singles against Korea’s Heo Kwang-hee.

The Chew brothers are looking to build off the success they found in their second game against China on Saturday. “We’re feeling good and ready for tomorrow’s match,” Phillip said of the pair’s condition. “We had a good practice session today. We’re hoping to get off to a much better start than we did against China.”

Meanwhile, Lam is coming off a match against one of the top players in the tournament. “I’ve just been really focused on Kento right now,” he said after his first match on Sunday, July 25th, “but I’m going to go back (. . . ) and just take a rest and get my mind ready for tomorrow.”
