In partnership with the Badminton World Federation, USA Badminton only recognizes coaches certified through the USAB/BWF coaching pathway. Individuals applying for USAB Coaching Passes are required to take the BWF Coach Education Level 1 Online Component. At this time, individuals do not need to take the in-person assessment of the BWF Level 1 Coach Education course to apply for a USAB Coaching Pass and be certified at the USAB level.

However, USAB will offer the in-person assessment throughout the country for individuals that complete the online component and want to complete the in-person assessment to be certified at the BWF level.

In order to attend the in-person assessment, the individual must have completed the Free-Text Questions in the online component. Failure to fill out the Free-Text Questions will result in expulsion from the in-person assessment. The course will be conducted in English and all coursework required to be completed following the in-person classes must be submitted in English. Each participant will be assessed for certification after completion of the in-person course and assignments. There is no guarantee of certification.
