All five events will be conducted at the Collegiate Nationals – women’s and men’s singles, women’s and men’s doubles, and mixed doubles.

A feed-in consolation draw through the quarterfinals will be used in accordance with USA Badminton Tournament Regulations. Alternatively, pool play may be used based on the number of entries. Matches are best of three games to 21 points.

We anticipate, based on the projected team size, that the winners of each event will be selected for the WUG Team. Pairs will be selected as a team. The runner-up in singles and mixed doubles will also be selected. If there are duplicate athletes (if one player earns a spot in more than one event) additional athletes will be selected as follows:

If one player (male or female) is selected in two events, the next singles player (male or female) will be selected. If one player (male or female) is selected in all three events, the doubles runner-up pair (male or female) will be selected. If two players are duplicates, the runner-up doubles pair will be selected. We will publish how the additional athletes will be selected if there are more duplicates.

We have been informed by FISU that the U.S. Team has been invited to compete in the Team event. The U.S. team for WUG will be composed of the individual players selected by the above criteria.
