Ishika Jaiswal Closes Out 2021 with WS Gold Medal in El Salvador

The III El Salvador International 2021 took place from December 14, 2021 to December 18, 2021 in San Salvador, El Salvador. U.S. athletes won medals in all five events.
Congratulations to Ishika Jaiswal for winning the gold medal in women’s singles, defeating Brazil’s Juliana Viana Vieira! Disha Gupta won the bronze medal as well, after falling to Vieira in the semifinals.
In men’s singles, Don Henley Averia won the bronze medal after falling to Brazil’s Donnians Oliveira in the semifinals.
In men’s doubles, Enrico Asuncion and Justin Ma won the bronze medal after falling to Italy’s Fabio Caponio and Giovanni Toti in the semifinals. Sri Kolla and Kevin Shi also won the bronze medal after falling to Brazil’s Jonathan Matias and Artur Silva Pomoceno, also in the semifinals.
In women’s doubles, Ishika Jaiswal won the bronze medal with India’s Srivedya Gurazada after falling to Italy’s No. 1 seeded Katharina Fink and Yasmine Hamza in the semifinals.
In mixed doubles, Kevin Shi and Ishika Jaiswal won the silver medal after falling to Guatemala’s Christopher Alexander Martinez Salvador and Mariana Isabel Paiz Quan in the finals.
