USA Badminton athletes Richard Alcaraz (SL4), Jayci Simon (SH6), and Miles Krajewski (SH6) put on impressive performances at the NSDF Royal Beach Cliff BWF Para Badminton World Championships 2024 in Pattaya, Thailand.

Alcaraz qualified in Men’s Singles and Men’s Doubles, with his partner Albert Manuel Puente Perez from Peru. He had a difficult group in both singles and doubles and was unable to make it out of group play.

Alcaraz and Coach Moss Lattison both provided support for Simon and Krajewski as they took on their competition in SH6.

Simon played all three events, with Egypt’s Yasmina Eissa in Women’s Doubles and Krajewski in Mixed Doubles. She made it out of her group in Women’s Singles but fell to Lin Shuangbao from China in the Round of 16. In Women’s Doubles, the pair was defeated in the quarterfinals by Peru.

In Men’s Singles, Krajewski had a tough group and did not make it out of group play. In Men’s Doubles, he and partner Vitor Tavares of Brazil made it to the semifinals, where they were defeated by China’s Lin Naili and Zeng Qingtao.

The Mixed Doubles pair of Krajewski and Simon advanced out of their group play, facing the second seed from India and pulling through 15-21, 21-16, and 21-17. Their journey ended in the semifinals against China’s Lin Naili and Li Fengmei, capping off an impressive run at the World Championships.
