Quarter Final Finish for US Pair: China Masters 2026

This past week, 7 US players took to the court in Guangdong, China at the China Masters, which ran from September 01-06. Among them, women’s doubles pair Jennie Gai and Francesca Corbett made it to the quarter finals. Three pairs made the round of 16, including Lauren Lam and Allison Lee, Presley Smith and Jennie Gai, and Iris Yang and her German partner Li Yvonne.

In their round of 16 match, Gai/Corbett came face to face with Japanese pair Rin
Iwanaga and Kie Nakanishi, who are currently ranked number 6 in the world. The US pair prevailed, with a match ending in the scoreline 22-20, 21-15. In her post reflecting on the last 2 months of competition, Gai notes that “progress is not linear, and I’m excited to get back to training.”
