SHU OUT OF SAARLORLUX OPEN IN ROUND OF 16

Howard Shu’s run at the SaarLorLux Open 2020 ended in the Round of 16 with a loss to Tobias Kuenzi of Switzerland, 21-19, 21-18.
Shu had a slow start to the first game and trailed early, 8-2. The American battled back and pulled within one, 16-15. Kuenzi took control back with three straight points to lead 19-15, only to have Shu rally again nearly even the score, 20-19. But in the end, Kuenzi scored the final point and won game one, 21-19.
The second game was tight early, tied 8-8, before Kuenzi started to pull away. But Shu once again fought back and rallied late to come back from a 19-14 deficit. Shu scored four straight points to trail by just one, 19-18. Kuenzi, however, scored the final two points to win the game, 21-18, and the match.
The SaarLorLux Open 2020 is a BWF Tour Super 100 tournament played in Saarbrücken, Saarland, Germany.
