Six U.S. Badminton Athletes Qualify for Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games

Colorado Springs – USA Badminton is proud to announce six U.S. badminton athletes have qualified and have been nominated to the United States Olympic Paralympic Committee to be a member of Team USA in Paris this summer. The Badminton World Federation confirmed the list of 173 total athletes set to compete in Paris on May 10, 2024.
 
Beiwen Zhang from Anshan, LiaoNing, China (World No. 10) qualifies in Women’s Singles for her second Olympic Games. Zhang competed at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, where she advanced out of Group Play before her journey ended in injury in the Round of 16. She has returned better than ever, most recently winning a gold medal in Women’s Singles at the XXVII YONEX Pan Am Individual Championships 2024 as well as winning a gold medal at the 2023 Pan American Games.
 
Annie Xu and Kerry Xu from San Jose, CA (World No. 32) qualify in Women’s Doubles for their first Olympic Games. The twins won a silver medal at both the XXVII YONEX Pan Am Individual Championships 2024 and the 2023 Pan American Games.
 
Vinson Chiu from Newport Beach, CA and Joshua Yuan from Foster City, CA (World No. 44) qualify in Men’s Doubles for their first Olympic Games. The pair won a bronze medal at the XXVII YONEX Pan Am Individual Championships 2024.
 
Vinson Chiu and Jennie Gai from Fremont, CA (World No. 30) qualify in Mixed Doubles for their first Olympic Games. The pair won a silver medal at both the XXVII YONEX Pan Am Individual Championships 2024 and the 2023 Pan American Games.
 
Paris 2024 is currently set to feature the most U.S. badminton athletes in the Olympics since Rio 2016 when the U.S. qualified seven athletes.
