U.S. Athletes Wrap Up Competition at All England Open 2023

After three days of intense action, four American athletes have wrapped up competition at the 115th edition of the YONEX All England Open at the Utilita Arena in Birmingham, England.

Top Results:

  • Beiwen Zhang – In the women’s singles event, Zhang was eliminated in the Round of 16 by current world No. 7 Carolina Marin of Spain (21-13, 21-18). Earlier in the competition, Zhang bested Supanida Katethong of Thailand (21-17, 21-14) in the Round of 32. 
  • Iris Wang – A Round of 32 loss to world No. 5 He Bing Jiao of China ended Wang’s participation in the women’s singles competition. Wang won the first game 21-17, but Bing Jiao took the next two games 21-17, 21-6. 
  • Srivedya Gurazada and Ishika Jaiswal – Making their All England debut, they lost in the Round of 32 in women’s doubles to Chloe Birch and Lauren Smith of England in a close second game (21-9, 21-18)
