The US was represented by 6 athletes at the 2026 Denmark Open which took place in Ørbækvej, Denmark from October 13th-18th. For many of the players, the tournament marked their return to the BWF World Tour after a brief down-time which offered a chance to visit home, travel, and continue training.
Women’s doubles pair Lauren Lam and Allison Lee progressed to quarterfinals. They put up quite the fight, resulting in a three round match with the scoreline of 17-21, 21-19, 19-21 in their match against Japanese pair Hinata Suzuki and Nao Yamakita. Lam and Lee’s Coach, Olympian Paula Lynn Obanana, encouraged “girls be proud of yourselves! You fought hard and did great. Learn from this experience, work on what needs improvement, and come back better and stronger.”
The next stop on the tour is next week’s French Open, which will take place from October 20-25.
Congratulations to our players!
