USA Badminton Launches BWF Shuttle Time Program

USA Badminton is proud to launch the Shuttle Time Program in partnership with the Badminton World Federation to introduce young people across the United States to the sport of badminton.

Shuttle Time’s motto is “Giving Every Child the Chance to Play for Life”, and offers school teachers access to free resources including lesson plans, training and equipment, which support the teaching of enjoyable, safe and inclusive badminton activities to children.

With a goal of bringing badminton to as many young people as possible, Shuttle Time creates a framework and structure for introductory experiences to be hosted across the country. Shuttle Time lessons are designed to provide children with a positive image of badminton through many opportunities to have fun, engage with others and experience success.

Shuttle Time teachers have free lesson plans, videos, and a comprehensive app. The program consists of nearly two dozen hour-long lesson plans for players ages 5-15 and can be adapted to meet any school/organization’s needs. Shuttle Time can also provide equipment including rackets, shuttles and nets for programs implementing the Shuttle Time curriculum.

USA Badminton hosted the first Shuttle Time Tutor and Shuttle Time Teacher Course in October of 2022 in San Antonio through a partnership with Special Olympics. Attendees included Tina Lulla, USAB’s Shuttle Time coordinator.

Shuttle Time was created in 2012 and has been implemented in more than 140 countries. You can find out more about the worldwide impact Shuttle Time has had at www.shuttletime.bwfbadminton.com.
