USA Badminton Seeking Volunteers for Ethics & Grievance Committee

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – USA Badminton is looking for volunteers interested in joining the USA Badminton Ethics & Grievance Committee.
Applications can be submitted to the chair of the Nominating Committee at ngchair@usabadminton.org. To apply please send a short statement of interest and your resume. Note that current USAB board members are not eligible to serve on the ethics/judicial committee.
The nominating and governance committee will review all applications. The nominating and governance committee is composed of Jenny Chan, Iris Wang, Yvonne Chern, David Shaw, and Liz Aronsohn.
The Ethics Committee shall be appointed and have the responsibilities as follows:
- No director of the Board shall be appointed to the Ethics and Grievance Committee.
- The committee shall consist of up to six (6) members to ensure, at any one time, proper participation in the decision-making process with regard to athletes, disciplines, and independent members of the Committee.
- The Board of Directors shall appoint the Ethics and Grievance Committee Chair. In accordance with Section 9.4, the athlete representatives shall be appointed by the USAB ARC, one of whom must be an Elite Ten-Year Athlete. The Chair shall appoint the remaining two (2) committee members.
- The Ethics and Grievance Committee shall —
- Develop, and review on an annual basis, a Code of Ethics for the Board, officers, committee and task force members, volunteers, staff, and member organizations for adoption by the Board;
- Generally, administer and oversee compliance with the Code of Ethics;
- Review and investigate matters of ethical impropriety and make recommendations on such matters to the Board;
- Review and guide ethical questions presented to it by the Board, officers, committee and task force members, volunteers, staff, and USAB members;
- Generally, administer and oversee all administrative grievances and right to participate matters filed with USAB;
- Identify individuals who would be fair and impartial and who would have the qualifications and ability to serve on hearing panels;
- Hear and render a decision, or appoint a panel to hear and render a decision, on grievances and disciplinary matters;
- Perform such other duties as assigned by the Board.
