Beiwen Zhang Returns to Court for Next Group Play Match at Tokyo 2020

The fifth day of competition at Musashino Forest Sport Plaza for Tokyo 2020 features the mixed doubles quarterfinals but for the U.S., all eyes are on women’s singles player Beiwen Zhang as she faces Brazil’s Fabiana Silva in her last match of group play. Zhang is currently 1-0 in her group, while Silva is 0-1.
For the American shuttler, maintaining her competition mentality has been a key to her preparation after playing her first match on July 25th. “I’ve skipped two days,” she said when asked about her mindset going into her next match. “Hopefully [I] can get back the competition feeling as soon as possible.”
